Vietnam is one of the core destinations for Chinese steel structure exports in 2026. Electronics, textiles and furniture manufacturing keep relocating there, industrial parks and logistics warehousing are breaking ground continuously, and because the north-central coast lies in the typhoon path with strong coastal salt air, wind and corrosion are the governing design points.
The structural priority in Vietnam
Climate varies sharply from north to south. The north-central coast sits in the typhoon track where roof uplift risk is high, while the south sees fewer typhoons but still needs serious corrosion protection against heat and heavy rain. Steel is the mainstream choice for industrial park plants and warehouses thanks to its light weight and short programme.
- Single-storey plants typically use 24–36 m portal frames at 8–9 m column spacing for lines and racking
- In typhoon zones, sheet-to-purlin fixing is densified and corner and ridge zones reinforced per pressure zones
- Phased expansion: build phase one, extend the same bay line later without demolition
Codes and climate
We design to the Vietnamese standards TCVN 5575 (steel structures), TCVN 2737 (loads and actions) and TCVN 9386 (seismic design), using SS400 / Q235B and SM490 grades. Coastal projects default to C4–C5 corrosion protection.
- Seismic: parameters per TCVN 9386 zoning, with ductile connection detailing
- Wind: basic wind speed per location in the north-central typhoon zone, with a strengthened envelope
- Corrosion: hot-dip galvanizing (≥85 µm) or galvanized plus seal coat for C4–C5
- Envelope: steeper roof pitch and drainage sized for heavy tropical rain
Delivery and logistics: Shanghai to Hai Phong or Ho Chi Minh City
Detailing and fabrication are done at our Shanghai and Jiangsu plants. Knocked-down members ship to Hai Phong or Cai Mep / Cat Lai (Ho Chi Minh City), or overland via the Pingxiang crossing in Guangxi. Member marking drawings, packing lists and erection instructions are included.
- Detailing 7–10 days, fabrication 25–35 days, sea freight about 5–9 days
- FOB / CIF / DAP terms; we assist with Vietnamese customs documentation
- The overland route shortens delivery to inland parks with more controllable cost
