The same drawing can need 30% more steel by the sea or in the mountains. Loads decide everything.
When a quotation request arrives, our engineers always ask three things: basic wind pressure, snow load and seismic intensity. The same 40×80m workshop can need 30% more steel depending on the environment.
Wind: in coastal typhoon zones (eastern Philippines, for example), basic wind pressure can be triple that of inland sites — directly affecting purlin spacing, column grid and bracing.
Snow: in parts of Northern Europe and Central Asia, snow governs the design — roof slope and purlin sections follow, and drifting-snow cases must be checked.
Seismic: design intensity governs joint ductility and bracing systems. In seismic zones, never cut tonnage blindly.
A professional quotation starts with knowing the site. A supplier who quotes from floor area alone is skipping the diligence your structure deserves.
