Project Update: Machining Workshop Project Starts in the Middle East

Project Updates Xionglan Engineering Team

A two-span machining workshop with 20t cranes is underway — C5-M coatings for desert heat and salt.

A machining workshop in the Middle East broke ground this week: 9,800 m², two 24m spans each fitted with a 20t overhead crane, column height 11m.

Environment drives the design: 6km from the coast means C5-M corrosion class, so primary steel gets hot-dip galvanizing plus a heavy-duty coating system; high summer temperatures require thermal-movement allowances in the joints; and a high-reflectance light roof coating keeps indoor temperatures down.

Fabrication runs 10 weeks plus 18 days of shipping. A plant with 20t cranes demands rigorous girder fatigue design — every crane girder is verified for heavy duty, which is the safety core of this project type.
