The Middle East is not a ship-and-forget market: coatings, panel weathering and bolt temperature effects all matter.
The Middle East is our second-largest export region, yet its environment is often underestimated. Four reminders for buyers entering this market:
1. Coatings: coastal areas (Jeddah, Dubai) are high-salinity environments. Specify C5-M corrosion protection — standard C3 systems will show rust within 3–5 years.
2. Panels: light-colored, high-reflectance roof sheets cut indoor temperature by 3–5°C — a very noticeable difference in air-conditioning bills.
3. Temperature effects: member surfaces can reach 70°C in summer; long bolted connections need allowances for thermal movement.
4. Certification: Saudi SABER/SASO takes 4–6 weeks. Schedule it into the project plan — don't remember it right before shipment.
