This page answers the 20 questions overseas and domestic buyers ask us most, covering company credentials, product selection, price and lead times, export logistics and after-sales. Spans, tonnage, codes and price ranges are all based on real project data and can be quoted directly.
Company and credentials
What does Xionglan Steel do?
Xionglan Steel (brand XIONGLAN STEEL) was founded in 2014 and is based in Fengxian District, Shanghai. We design, detail, fabricate and export steel buildings — portal-frame workshops, high-bay warehouses, multi-storey steel frames, space-frame roofs and metal envelope systems — as a direct factory supplier.
How big is the company and what is your annual capacity?
Annual fabrication capacity is 30,000 tonnes, with plants in Shanghai and Jiangsu. We have 12 years in the industry, over 200 overseas projects delivered, and exports to more than 50 countries and regions.
What certifications do you hold and which design codes do you follow?
We are ISO 9001 certified and our steel structures carry CE certification. Structural design follows GB 50017 / EN 1090 / AISC 360 and welding follows AWS D1.1; we support third-party inspection by SGS or BV.
Do you have overseas export and installation experience?
Yes. Exports cover more than 50 countries and regions with over 200 overseas projects delivered across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America. We have an overseas installation guidance team and can send engineers to site.
Products and solutions
What types of steel buildings do you build?
We specialise in portal-frame workshops (PEB), high-bay warehouses, multi-storey steel frames, space-frame and truss roofs, long-span hangars and arenas, plus metal envelope systems such as sandwich panels, corrugated sheets and standing-seam roofs — 23 product lines in total.
What is the maximum span you can achieve?
Portal frames normally span up to 40 m; space frames and truss roofs reach 80 m or more; long-span hangars and arenas go beyond 60 m, optimised to your loads and column spacing.
Can the building be fitted with an overhead crane, and up to what tonnage?
Yes. Our crane girder system supports 5–50 t cranes, designed with fatigue checks. Brackets and rails can be pre-provisioned in the columns so a crane can be added later without stopping operations.
Can you build cold stores, clean rooms and multi-storey plants?
Yes. Cold stores and food plants use PU-sealed or rock-wool sandwich panels for insulation; electronics clean rooms are built to the required cleanroom class with airtight detailing; multi-storey steel frames go from 3 to 8 storeys with all-bolted connections.
Do you take build-to-print or OEM fabrication?
Yes. We fabricate to customer drawings and offer OEM work to EN 1090, with SGS or BV third-party inspection, and can also provide overseas erection guidance or full installation contracting.
Price and lead time
Roughly how much does a steel structure building cost per square metre?
Indicative ranges (USD per m², structure and envelope budget): single-storey workshop 45–70, logistics warehouse 40–60, multi-storey building 70–110, carport 30–50. Actual price varies with span, loads, corrosion class and location — a formal quotation is authoritative.
How long from order to shipment?
Typical projects take 7–10 days for detailing and 25–35 days for fabrication; domestic projects are usually faster. Export projects add sea freight, e.g. about 7–12 days from Shanghai to Jakarta. With your drawings or spec list, we issue an itemised quote and lead time within 24 hours.
Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
There is no fixed MOQ. We can produce anything from members for a single building to a complete factory supply, scheduled to your project.
What information do I need to provide for a quote?
Three things get you a fast quote: use (workshop / warehouse / cold store), dimensions (span, length, eave height, storeys) and site conditions (country, wind and snow loads, corrosivity). Drawings or a spec list help; we issue an itemised quote within 24 hours.
What are your payment terms?
We support T/T and other standard international settlement, usually split into a deposit plus balance before shipment or on arrival, with exact ratios and credit terms set in the commercial contract. A proforma invoice (PI) can be issued for payment and customs.
Export, logistics and after-sales
Which countries do you export to and from which port?
We export to more than 50 countries and regions, mainly across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America. Marked knock-down members are shipped mainly from Shanghai port, or to a port you nominate.
Which trade terms do you support?
We support mainstream terms including FOB, CIF and DAP, and can assist with the documentation needed for customs clearance at destination.
How are members packed, and will they be damaged in transit?
Members are packed knock-down and marked; steel parts get rust protection and end protection, and envelope panels are packed separately. Each shipment includes a packing list, member mark drawings and erection instructions, and high loading density keeps freight per tonne down.
Who handles on-site installation and what support do you provide?
By default we supply member mark drawings, erection sequence drawings and remote technical support so a local crew can bolt the structure together. If site support is needed we can send engineers to supervise, or take on full installation and hand over as-built documentation.
What warranty and corrosion-protection life do you offer?
Hot-dip galvanizing typically gives 20+ years without major maintenance in C4 environments; for C5 coastal sites we recommend galvanizing plus a seal coat, tailored to your site corrosivity. The structure and envelope carry a contractual warranty, with material and inspection records supplied per batch.
