3. 自重与基础：钢结构自重约为混凝土的 30%，软土地基或地质条件差的项目可显著节省基础造价。
4. 抗震性能：钢材延性好、自重轻，抗震表现优异，这也是日本、智利等多震国家工业建筑大量采用钢结构的原因。
5. 可扩展与可搬迁：钢结构可通过增跨、加层扩建，集成房屋甚至可整体搬迁复用；混凝土基本无法搬迁。
6. 全生命周期成本：钢结构维护得当（定期油漆补涂）使用寿命 50 年以上，且报废后钢材可 100% 回收，残值高。

Neither steel nor concrete is absolutely better — only more suitable. We suggest comparing six dimensions:
1. Schedule: factory-prefabricated steel members are bolted together on site; total time is typically 1/3–1/2 of concrete, so you start production sooner.
2. Span & space: clear spans beyond 40m are almost exclusively steel territory; concrete suits short-column multi-story offices.
3. Weight & foundations: steel weighs about 30% of concrete — major foundation savings on soft ground.
4. Seismic performance: steel's ductility and light weight make it excellent in earthquakes — the reason seismic countries like Japan and Chile build most industrial plants in steel.
5. Expansion & relocation: steel buildings can be widened or raised; modular units can even be relocated. Concrete cannot move.
6. Life-cycle cost: well-maintained (repainted on schedule) steel lasts 50+ years, and steel is 100% recyclable with high scrap value.
Rule of thumb: single-story wide-span plants/warehouses, tight schedules, average ground — choose steel; heavy-duty multi-story shops with extreme fire requirements — consider steel-concrete composite. Tell us your conditions and our engineers will give an honest recommendation.
